Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is a medicinal mushroom that has been highly revered in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other traditional healing systems for thousands of years. Also known as Lingzhi in China and Mannentake in Japan, Reishi is characterized by its distinctive kidney or fan-shaped cap and glossy appearance.

Ganoderma lucidum is seen throughout the world in temperate and subtropical locations including North and South America, Europe, and Asia. It is commonly seen to the East of the Rocky Mountains, particularly in the Gulf Coast regions. Its range extends as far north as Canada and south into Argentina.
